Wirn 2025

The Italian Workshop on Neural Networks (WIRN) is the annual conference of the Italian Society of Neural Networks (SIREN). The historical venue of the conference, since 1989, is in Vietri Sul Mare. WIRN is a 33-year traditional event devoted to the discussion of novelties and innovations related to the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Neural Networks (NN). In recent years, it has also become a multidisciplinary forum on psychological and cognitive theories for modelling human behaviours.

Topics include, but are not limited to, the following research and application areas:

  • Computational Intelligence: Neural Networks, Fuzzy Systems, Evolutionary Computation, Swarm Intelligence, Support Vector Machines, Complex Networks, Bayesian Networks, Kernel Networks, Consciousness and Models of Emotion, Cognitive and Psychological Models of Human Behavior.
  • Algorithms and Architectures: Deep learning architectures and deep neural networks, graph neural networks, explainable and interpretable deep learning, bio-inspired neural networks, wavelet neural networks, artificial intelligence algorithms for human signal processing and recognition (speech, faces, gestures, gaze).
  • Implementations: Embedded Systems, Neuromorphic circuits and hardware, Spike-based VLSI NNs, Intelligent Interactive Dialogue Systems, Embodied Conversational Agent.
  • Applications: Healthcare, Ambient Assistive Living, Data Mining, Finance and Economics, Big Data Analysis, Neuroinformatics and Bioinformatics, Brain-Computer Interface and Systems, Time Series Modelling and Prediction, Process Monitoring and Diagnosis, Intelligent and Adaptive Systems for Human-Machine Interaction.

CALL FOR PAPERS: Prospective authors are invited to contribute with original, unpublished, high-quality papers in the topic areas listed above. Papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee and may be accepted for oral or poster presentation. Accepted contributions will be published in a volume printed by Springer and indexed by SCOPUS.
